KONCISE | Stabiliser for Photographer

Loughborough University | BA Industrial Design FYP

Untitled-2

CONTEXT

The older generation (00's) of cameras do not have a great internal stabilisation module, and it does not perform well with high ISO as compensation. Poor quality images were often created due to lacking proper tools or being left behind because of the weight and size of these monopods and Tripods in the market.

Hence I decided to fill this market gap, a product that is light and compact enough to convince the photographer to bring along. Allowing the user to shoot in slow shutter speed, as well as allowing quick deployment and modification during the shoot.

DESIGN BRIEF

  • Support ≤4-5kg load
  • Ease of carry / storage
  • Quick to deploy & easy to reconfigure setting while deployed
  • Allow different angles and a wide range of height
  • Stabilisation mechanism does not dependent on the environment

SOLUTION

Konsice is a product that attached to the bottom of the SLR, user can pull out the retractable band and tighten their stance by stepping on the band forming a steady triangle ready to shoot. After the shoot, the user can simply press the retract button to reset the device.
