EY Wavespace | Facilitating for Visioning & Alignment with Design Thinking
People are bound by habits, processes and regulations, breaking these in order to innovate, disrupt and transform is never easy. Within our workshops, most of the client look into developing a company vision or alignment between different BU, stakeholders or processes.
We always try to create a safe & comfortable environment for participants from all levels, so they could share their thoughts & views. Breaking the hierarchies and rigid meeting taboo through the facilitation, levelling out the playing field & making sure everyone understands the real context via collaborative exercises, driving towards a collective goal.
“Design Thinking as a mindset not just focuses on people centricity, with empathy we can take it further & create meaningful values to the whole ecosystem ”
One of the cases will be a workshop we hosted for a conservation NGO. They are struggling in recent years as funding drops and there seems to be no way out, things are getting desperate.
It is always hard to make a decision on identifying a new direction in the year of uncertainty (2019), it is a critical turning point to have a direct impact in their future fundings. We did a range of exercises to help them to understand the current & future context better, as well as the positioning in the competitive landscape to explore a range of future opportunities:
Value Alignment
Bio-diversity & Stewardship are important values that are not embraced by the stakeholder, by exploring extreme scenarios such as the End of the World & Discovering a New Habitable Planet, participants could voice out different pressing issues as well as exploring the new relationship between humanity and the ecosystem
Horizon Scanning
Foresight research on the different future horizons making sure the client has clarity about the future disruptions hence discuss possible reactions
Stakeholders & Value Mapping
By setting a new direction & taken the first step to be future proof, our client will validate and improve on a value flow map base on the research & interviews. Understanding the current value flow & revamping it for the future's need.
